Yerba Mate is a magical leaf coming from the South American rainforest.
It’s been said to offer the “strength of coffee, the health benefits of tea, and the euphoria of chocolate.”
For centuries people in South America have imbibed Mate tea to boost mental and physical stamina.
Rich in nutrients and history, Yerba Mate is made from the dried leaves and stems of a plant called Ilex Paraguariensis.
Much like other teas, these leaves are dried, chopped, and ground into a powder (known as “yerba”).
But, it’s more than that…Yerba Mate is a way of life and a symbol of friendship, traditionally sipped from a hollow gourd (known as a “mate”), with friends.
